Do Project Managers of EU-funded projects require different or special competencies?

| | | | | | | | | | |

Dear Project Manager,
Within the Grundtvig project KEYLINKS we intend to raise the quality of project management education and training by defining standards. We are asking specialists, project managers and experts from different institutions in all European Union countries who have participated in differing roles in “EU projects” (for example projects funded within EU programmes or national/regional funding programmes) to share their experiences in project planning and management with us.
In this survey we intend to identify which tasks are important for managers of projects that receive public funding (for example EU grants, national and regional funds etc.) in order to define the important competencies in the management of these projects.
By participating in the survey you will contribute to the improvement of the quality of project management education and training and help us to achieve valid results. In order to receive the results of the study and further information you can join the KEYLINKS network by simply entering your contact details in the online survey form.
We kindly invite you to share your expertise and experiences and support this Europe-wide study by filling in our online survey form. Please follow the link – it will only take you 15 to 20 minutes!

Thank you very much for your contribution!

Could you please forward this request to other Project Managers you think might have valuable information on this topic?

Best regards

Verifying the findings of the KEYLINKS survey

On Friday 15th of May PCM Group will organize a workshop / seminar to present and discuss the preliminary findings of the KEYLINKS survey (GRUNDTVIG funded) studying whether special competences are required of Project Managers of EU-funded projects.

When you are a Project Manager or Project Cycle Manager (desk officer / program manager / administrator) and happen to be in Brussels and this topic is of interest to you please send us a mail explaining your interest (info@pcm-group.com). We will inform you whether places are still available and the venue of the workshop. Participation is free.

Please check some preliminary findings on the project web site: www.KEYLINKS.eu

Hope you can manage to join us!

Warm regards.

What makes European projects different for Managers and Partners

Those following this discussion on the Sound Planning website might like to look at the comments made here as well before responding to Erik's request. I think that there are reasons to believe that typical European projects are substantially challenging  and would benefit from additional support on project management.
